Hey friends,
I’m excited to be hitting the road (and stage) this month with the Rana Farhan Band for a pair of shows in New York City and Toronto.
If you’re not already familiar with Rana’s music, you’re in for something truly special. Born in Tehran and now based in New York, Rana brings together Persian poetry, American blues, and jazz in a way that’s unlike anything else out there—soulful, hypnotic, and emotionally direct. Think Billie Holiday meets Rumi, with a deep groove underneath it all.
We’ll be performing:
- Thursday, May 29th at DROM in NYC – 8:30pm
- Saturday, May 31st at Adelaide Hall in Toronto, ON – 9:00pm
Joining Rana on stage are:
- Steve Toub – guitar
- Trifon Dimitrov – bass
- Joe Abba – drums
- And yours truly on saxophone and piano.
This music feels like a cultural bridge—stretching across time, space, and tradition—and I feel lucky to be a part of it. If you’re in the area, I hope you can come out and experience it with us.
