Panel Discussion: “Ambitious Art Projects and How to Make Them Happen: Four Artists’ Stories”

The NYFA Boot Camp Festival is happening full force this week, and I’m going to be participating in a panel discussion that promises to be enlightening and informative.  This event also got an excellent mention in the New York Times that you can check out here.

Here are the details.  Hope to see you at NYFA!

Panel Discussion: “Ambitious Art Projects and How to Make Them Happen: Four Artists’ Stories”

Visual artist Rachel Selekman moderates a discussion about the practical things, e.g., funding, budgeting, marketing and publicity, needed to get their work in front of the public. The panelists, who represent four disciplines, are visual artist Michelle Jaffe, musician and band leader Travis Sullivan, filmmaker Isabel Sadurni and writer Rachel Somerstein. To start the evening each artist discusses the business aspects of a major project on which s/he is working. Part of the New York Foundation for the Arts’ “NYFA Boot Camp Arts Festival” (Nov 4-20), a showcase of work by 38 visual artists, filmmakers, performers and writers.
