Here’s a video from the SnapDragon Trio’s live jazz performance at Loy Luo Space NYC recorded this past April.  This excerpt features my alto saxophone solo on “The Day,” composed by pianist Eishin Nose, with Eishin on piano and Bob Meyer on drums.  Playing with Eishin and Bob in this gallery space was an inspiring experience – the kind of musical conversation that keeps me hungry for more.

This concert was presented a few days before we went into the studio to record Eishin’s upcoming album, which will feature free improvisations as well as his original compositions.  What I love about this performance is how the trio found space to stretch – the interplay, the spontaneity, and the way the music kept surprising us.  Sharing these moments fells important to me, because they remind me of why I do this: to create something alive in the present and to connect through sound.
