Existential Treat is the latest release from saxophonist, pianist, and composer Travis Sullivan—a six-track collection of original music that brings together contemporary jazz, lyrical songwriting, rhythmic exploration, and spontaneous interplay.

Featuring vocalist Tamuz Nissim, guitarist Giorgos Nazos, bassist Bryan Copeland, and drummer Joe Abba, the album moves fluidly between tightly constructed compositions and the openness of a working jazz ensemble. Sullivan performs on alto saxophone and keyboards, leading a group whose distinct musical personalities are central to the sound of the record.

From the angular 11/4 blues of “Blues at 11” and the shifting 7/8 pulse of the title track to the lyricism of “One for Mia” and the vocal feature “Lunar,” Existential Treat reflects Sullivan’s ongoing interest in melody, unusual rhythmic structures, improvisation, and music that resists easy stylistic boundaries.

At its core, the album is about interaction: five musicians listening, responding, taking chances, and finding unexpected places inside the compositions.
