For this third concert of the series, Lukas Ligeti brings his new ensemble. Born in Vienna into a family from which several important artists have come, including his father Gyorgy Ligeti, Lukas has developed a musical style of his own that draws upon downtown New York experimentalism, contemporary classical music, jazz, electronica, as well as music from Africa. For this concert, Ligeti debuts brand-new music composed for a group of exceptional New York-based improvisers, including Shoki Nagai (piano) and Tom Bergeron (trumpet).
